The team captains met with their coach Justin O’Leary a few weeks ago to discuss ideas for a community service project. They came up with a winter coat drive. The captains met with the assistant principal and proposed their timeline – 2 weeks – and on the last night of the drive encourage people to bring coats to the varsity basketball game that evening. The players put bins around the building for donations. They spread the word through social media and school announcements. The captains will meet with the assistant principal this week to discuss transporting the coats to the designated donation center.
