About:
Students and staff from Saratoga Central Catholic School joined forces with sister schools St. Clement’s and St. Mary’s in Ballston Spa for their annual Pink Day, raising a record-breaking $4,954 to support local cancer patients and their families.
The meaningful tradition brought school communities together to raise cancer awareness, honor those battling the disease, celebrate survivors, and remember loved ones lost to cancer.
Wearing Pink for a Purpose
While students and staff embraced the opportunity to wear pink, the day represented something much greater than school spirit.
Pink Day served as a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion, community support, and standing together for those facing cancer.
Through the generosity of students, families, and staff across all three schools, this year’s initiative achieved a record-breaking fundraising total, demonstrating the impact that can be made when communities unite for a common cause.
Supporting Cancer Patients and Families in Their Own Community
All $4,954 raised will benefit the Mollie Wilmot Radiation Oncology Center in Saratoga Springs, helping local cancer patients and their families manage everyday expenses during treatment.
The funds will help provide assistance with essential needs, including:
- Transportation to medical appointments
- Groceries and household necessities
- Utility bills and rent
- Wigs and other treatment-related needs
By supporting these essential expenses, the schools are helping ease some of the financial challenges families face while undergoing cancer treatment.
A Tradition of Compassion and Giving Back
A special recognition goes to Ms. Izzo, who has championed this meaningful Pink Day tradition for many years, helping inspire generations of students to support those in need.
The success of this year’s event reflects the generosity and dedication of the entire Saratoga Central Catholic, St. Clement’s, and St. Mary’s school communities.
Their efforts demonstrate how students and schools can come together to create a lasting impact beyond the classroom.
