About:
Homecoming week at Sartell was filled with energy, community spirit, and incredible student involvement, and the Sabre football team played a huge role in making it all happen!
On Wednesday, October 1st, the football team and coaching staff served as officials and coaches for both the Unified football game and the Powderpuff football game. Their leadership ensured a fun, inclusive, and high-quality experience for everyone involved.
The excitement continued on Friday, October 3rd, as the team visited all three elementary schools in the morning. Wearing their football jerseys, the players welcomed students as they arrived, giving high-fives and spreading school spirit—a gesture that was warmly received by both students and parents.
Homecoming spirit extended beyond the football field! The Sabre pep band, homecoming royalty, bleacher captains, and student-athlete leaders embarked on a “Homecoming Tour,” visiting every school building in the district. They played the school song, taught students cheers, and created an energetic atmosphere that left teachers and students buzzing with excitement.
The Sartell Student Council also organized a spectacular Homecoming parade, featuring floats from every building, participation from many high school teams, Sartell police and fire departments, and local businesses. Streets were lined with cheering kids, making it a truly memorable event for the whole community.
In addition to the festivities, the Student Council sold homecoming shirts, with all proceeds going to support Ryah, a 10-year-old student in the district who has been diagnosed with leukemia. During the homecoming cookout, $8 burger and hot dog meals were sold to raise even more support.
The week culminated with an exciting homecoming football game, where the Sabres defeated their rival Sauk Rapids-Rice 21-7, capping off a week full of fun, community involvement, and school pride.
The dedication of the Sabre football team, student council, pep band, and all student volunteers made this Homecoming week a truly unforgettable experience.
