About:
The Sartell Sabres brought their community together for a powerful night of awareness, unity, and generosity during their annual Stick It to Cancer game, in conjunction with the boys’ hockey program.
Held just days before puck drop against the River Lakes Stars, the event encouraged fans to “pink out” the stands in support of cancer awareness. Community members who wore pink were entered to win exciting prizes, including Minnesota Wild tickets or a television, adding energy and enthusiasm to an already meaningful night.
With support from local partners St. Cloud Financial and St. Cloud Subaru, the game highlighted how athletics can serve as a platform for bringing people together around an important cause. Student-athletes, coaches, families, and fans all played a role in creating an atmosphere that extended far beyond competition, using the game as an opportunity to stand in solidarity with those impacted by cancer.
The Stick It to Cancer night reflected Sartell’s continued commitment to service and community involvement. By combining school spirit with purpose, the Sabres once again demonstrated how high school athletics can make a lasting impact—turning a game night into a moment of awareness, hope, and collective support.
