About:
The Sayville Girls Volleyball program is using its platform to rally the community in support of children and families impacted by childhood cancer.
On September 14, 2026, Sayville Girls Volleyball hosted a special “Go Gold for Childhood Cancer” match, with the JV and varsity teams coming together to raise awareness and funds for two organizations making a difference in the fight against childhood cancer.
As part of the event, the program held a 50/50 raffle, with proceeds benefiting the Chordoma Foundation and the Daniela Conte Foundation.
The Daniela Conte Foundation is dedicated to supporting children battling cancer and their families while helping fund research toward better, less toxic treatments. The Chordoma Foundation works to improve treatment and outcomes for people affected by chordoma, a rare form of cancer.
By going gold, Sayville’s student-athletes helped shine a light on childhood cancer while giving their school and community an opportunity to come together around an important cause.
Events like this demonstrate how student-athletes can use sports for something bigger than competition—raising awareness, supporting meaningful organizations, and making a difference beyond the court.
Thank you to the Sayville Girls Volleyball players, coaches, families, and community members who helped make this meaningful event possible.
