About:
Two of the youngest girls’ teams in the SBMC club, the SBMC 12’s and SBMC 14’s, are making a significant impact both on and off the soccer field. Competing in the EDP soccer league and several tournaments throughout the season, these teams are coached by the women’s assistant coach from Mercy University.
Named in honor of the successful SBMC 06 girls team, who were once ranked #1 in the country, the SBMC 12’s and 14’s continue to build a tradition of athletic achievement and community service.
The SBMC 12’s team has recently become eligible to volunteer in the club’s TOPS Soccer programs, which provide specialized support for children with special needs. In addition to their volunteer efforts, the SBMC 12’s and 14’s teams were honored to participate in the Centereach Fire Department’s candle lighting ceremony, commemorating those lost on 9/11.
The club is proud of these young teams, not only for their accomplishments in the sport but also for their commitment to giving back to the community.
