About:
The Schroeder Warriors Hockey program rang in the new year by stepping up for a meaningful and inclusive cause, organizing a clothing donation drive in support of the Tim Tebow Foundation’s Night to Shine initiative.
During the Warriors’ game against Irondequoit, fans and community members were invited to donate gently used and new dresses, shirts, suits, and formalwear. Donations were collected at a clearly marked clothing rack in the arena lobby, making it easy for attendees to participate while supporting an important community effort. All items will be offered in a boutique-style setting where Night to Shine participants can “shop” for outfits as they prepare for their special evening.
The team’s commitment extended beyond game night. On December 28, members of the Webster Schroeder Warriors community volunteered their time to help set up the Night to Shine Boutique, organizing clothing and preparing the space to ensure a welcoming, dignified, and celebratory experience for individuals with special needs. Warriors players will also continue to support the initiative by volunteering to help work the boutique and assist with teardown following the event.
Night to Shine is a global prom night experience that celebrates individuals with special needs through formal attire, music, and a night centered on joy, dignity, and inclusion. This local effort was made possible through a connection from a Warriors team parent and Cross Creek Church, which hosts the Night to Shine event and boutique.
By supporting both the donation drive and hands-on volunteer efforts, the Schroeder Warriors Hockey program demonstrated how student-athletes can use their platform to foster inclusion and make a meaningful impact beyond the rink. These efforts reflect a broader culture of service within the Warriors program—one rooted in compassion, leadership, and community connection.
Schroeder Warriors Hockey extends sincere thanks to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make this initiative a success, proving once again that the Warrior spirit reaches far beyond the scoreboard.
