About:
The Junior Warriors Wrestling team is a shining example of community spirit and leadership in action! Both Varsity and JV wrestlers, totaling 50 volunteers, dedicate their time to making a positive impact far beyond the wrestling mat.
These athletes are not only honing their skills in competition but also stepping up as mentors and role models for the next generation of wrestlers. Their commitment to giving back demonstrates the core values of teamwork, leadership, and service that define what it means to be a Schroeder Warrior Wrestler.
Mentoring the Next Generation
Throughout the winter season, JV and Varsity wrestlers dedicate themselves to coaching and mentoring youth wrestlers in the program. Meeting 2–3 times per week, the high school athletes lead warm-ups, teach techniques, and oversee live wrestling sessions with the support of their coaches. These efforts add up to an impressive 30 hours of volunteer time during the winter season.
Summer Camp Leadership
During the summer, their dedication continues with a week-long wrestling camp where Varsity and JV wrestlers serve as counselors and role models. These 10 summer volunteers contribute 12 additional hours of mentorship, bringing the total annual impact to 42 hours of volunteer service.
The camp fosters camaraderie, strengthens leadership skills, and provides young wrestlers with a firsthand look at the dedication and passion it takes to be part of the Junior Warriors Wrestling team.
Building a Legacy of Service
The Junior Warriors’ efforts are part of a larger initiative by the athletic department to encourage athletes to give back to their community and grow their sports. By investing their time and energy, these wrestlers are not only strengthening their program but also creating lasting connections within their community.
Their actions speak louder than words: true champions lead by example. The Junior Warriors Wrestling team continues to inspire, showing us all the power of service, mentorship, and teamwork.
Go Warriors!
