About:
Section VIII Athletics recently demonstrated the impact of teamwork beyond the mat through a meaningful donation drive supporting Island Harvest Food Bank.
Members of the Section VIII cheerleading community came together to collect and donate an impressive 320 pounds of supplies to help individuals and families facing food insecurity across Long Island.
Island Harvest, one of Long Island’s largest hunger-relief organizations, works to provide food and resources to thousands of residents in need. Donations like these help ensure that local food pantries and community partners have the supplies necessary to support families throughout the region.
The effort highlights the commitment of Section VIII student-athletes to making a difference in their communities. While cheerleaders dedicate countless hours to training, performances, and competitions, they also continue to step up as leaders off the mat by supporting causes that strengthen their local communities.
Through initiatives like this, the Section VIII Athletics cheerleading community shows that school spirit extends far beyond athletics—demonstrating compassion, leadership, and a dedication to helping others.
