About:

Members of the Cutchogue East Elementary School Student Leadership group in Mattituck-Cutchogue School District organized a school food drive during the month of November to ensure those in need had sufficient food for the holidays. The members of the Student Leadership group requested that students donate items that would be seen on their own tables. To avoid having too many of one type of food item and not enough of  another, different foods were assigned by grade level as follows: kindergarten: corn muffin mix; first grade: stuffing; second grade: canned corn; third grade: canned cranberry sauce; fourth grade: canned green beans; fifth grade: pasta and sixth grade: canned sweet potatoes. As usual the generosity and caring for others was overwhelming.

Special thanks and congratulations to the members of the Student Leadership group for their outstanding leadership skills and for initiating such an amazing event. The members of the Student Leadership group for 2020-2021 are: Tomas Artola-Arauz, Alexander Boyd, Keegan Carr, Kyle Damiano, Elizabeth Fohrkolb, Rachel Haas, Ever Meyer, Sam Quartararo, Laurel Richards, and Riley Richert.
