About:
Sewanhaka High School’s Students and Teachers Against Cancer (STAC) Club held a Walk-a-Thon on May 25 on the high school’s new track to benefit the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop University Hospital.
More than 135 students participated in the walk, including student athletes, raising $2,870.58 for the organization. STAC Adviser Toni Cesare thanked all who participated, volunteered and donated.
A special thanks to Cesare’s seventh-grade classes, Deborah Wichard and the junior high softball team; Jaime Celona, Fran Sinobio, Christine Moffet and the junior high track team; Debbie Bolton, Doris Brown, Tom Gerner and Tobi Morrison; Diane Ventura and her seventh-grade classes; Valentina Forgione and SADD club members; Darnell Ramsey and the track team, Deidre Kelly; George Kasimatis and the football team, the custodial staff and Kathleen Ratzken.
