In the past two years, the varsity team has had the privilege of participating in two 15 For Life games, thanks to their connection with Jeff Kavovit. This partnership has brought immense value to the program and community.
Recently, the varsity team competed against Colonie in one of these special games, both programs united in discussing mental health awareness. Through gate collections on Thursday night, the team raised funds to contribute to 15 For Life and their foundation, furthering their support for this vital cause.
The weekend brought another opportunity for growth and connection as the JV and varsity teams were invited to Yorktown, the hometown of the Kavovit family, for a day of commemorative events during the girl’s games. Jeff, a pivotal figure in the foundation, shared inspiring stories about Rob and emphasized the importance of self-care and open communication.
These experiences reinforce our ongoing dialogue about the significance of mental wellness alongside physical health. As proud ambassadors of the 15 For Life Foundation, the team remains committed to advocating for holistic well-being within our team and community.
