About:
On Friday, February 20, the KM High School community came together to support those in need through the Share the Warmth Coat & Sweatshirt Drive, held in conjunction with the boys’ and girls’ basketball games.
Recognizing a growing need within their school community, KM student-athletes helped lead a collection effort to support the high school pantry, which was running low on warm coats and sweatshirts. Fans attending the games were encouraged to bring new or gently used adult-size coats and sweatshirts, helping ensure classmates and community members had access to essential winter clothing.
Donation bins were set up at the ticket tables, and additional drop-off options were provided at the school office during the day, making it easy for the community to participate. The focus remained on quality and dignity, with donated items required to be clean, free of stains or rips, and equipped with working zippers.
By pairing a night of school spirit and competition with a meaningful service opportunity, KM Basketball demonstrated how high school athletics can play a powerful role in addressing real community needs. The drive was a reminder that teamwork extends beyond the court—and that small acts of generosity can make a big difference during the winter months.
