About:
The Shenendehowa Dance Team is stepping up to make a difference, joining forces with Real Kids Wear Pink to form Shen Strides for Strength in support of breast cancer awareness, and cancer awareness in general.
This special event highlights the team’s dedication to more than just performance — it’s about empowerment, resilience, and standing together for important causes. Partnering with Shenendehowa Athletics and the Shenendehowa Central School District, the team continues to show that school spirit and community service go hand in hand.
The first annual Strides for Strength Walkathon, hosted by the Shen Dance Team and Real Kids Wear Pink, aims to bring the community together in hope, strength, and unity. The mission is to raise awareness for breast cancer and all forms of cancer — to honor those who have been lost, support those still fighting, and celebrate the survivors who inspire others every day.
The event will take place on Sunday, November 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Shenendehowa Stadium Track. It will feature a Toddler Trot and Kids Dash, along with entertainment and local vendors, making it a day for participants of all ages to come together for a powerful cause.
Participants can register on GoFan.co/event/4891195 by October 20, 2025, to receive a T-shirt, or sign up at the event that day with cash or check.
The Shenendehowa community continues to prove that when students unite for a purpose, every step, dance, and stride helps strengthen others — turning school pride into meaningful impact.
