About:
On October 4th, the Shen Girls Volleyball team hosted a thrilling match against Burnt Hills, which always promises intense volleyball action and draws a lively crowd.
In a heartwarming display of solidarity, they encouraged everyone in attendance to don pink attire to demonstrate our support for Breast Cancer awareness. Additionally, they organized a bake sale and set up a donation bucket, receiving tremendous backing from both the Shen and Burnt Hills communities. The funds collected were put to good use as they purchased gift cards for a Shen Volleyball Family currently facing the challenges of a member’s battle with Breast Cancer. They hope that these gift cards could provide some relief during their difficult time.
On October 16th, the Varsity and JV player-coaches selflessly volunteered their time to give back to the community by participating in the Volley Futures Fall Youth Clinic. With 16 girls on our Varsity team and 14 on our JV team, they dedicated approximately 2-3 hours to baking, preparing, and decorating in support of the cause.
Furthermore, these dedicated girls collectively volunteered an impressive total of 6 hours to coach at the Volley Futures youth clinic every Monday night. Their commitment and generosity continue to make a positive impact on their community.
