About:
The Skaneateles Lakers Football team started their morning by giving back to the community, volunteering at the Mottville Firehouse Pancake Breakfast.
A total of 13 Lakers football players donated their time to help make the community event a success. Throughout the breakfast, the student-athletes greeted guests as they arrived, served drinks, cleaned tables and reset placemats for the next group of attendees.
This was not the team’s first time stepping up to serve. The Mottville Firehouse event marked the third pancake breakfast the Lakers have volunteered at, following two previous service efforts at the Bordino Pancake Breakfast.
The football program’s commitment to its community extends beyond these events as well. Players have also volunteered their time to help recondition the community garden in Skaneateles, providing another opportunity for the student-athletes to work together while giving back to the place they call home.
“We love supporting and serving our local communities,” the program shared.
Through these ongoing efforts, Skaneateles Football is showing that teamwork, leadership and commitment extend far beyond the football field. By consistently showing up to help local organizations and community events, the Lakers are putting service into action and demonstrating what it means to be part of something bigger than the game.
