The Smithtown East girls’ and boys’ lacrosse teams are coming together this season to make a meaningful impact beyond the field, rallying the community to support an essential cause. Their focus? Raising funds and awareness for the One Love Foundation, a national nonprofit committed to ending relationship abuse and educating young people on recognizing the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships.
One Love Foundation’s mission is critical: through prevention education, they empower youth to understand and foster healthy, respectful relationships. By supporting this work, Smithtown East athletes and community members contribute to building safer, healthier environments where everyone can thrive.
The fundraiser kicks off with a coed scrimmage, where an anticipated 20–25 players will participate, symbolizing unity and a shared commitment to ending relationship abuse. The athletes are raising funds through team t-shirt sales, and during the spring season, they plan to continue their efforts by organizing cross-town scrimmages involving both Smithtown East and West boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams. The goal is to involve all local youth lacrosse teams, making it a truly unifying day for Smithtown.
