About:
Students in the Leadership classes at Smithtown High School East are stepping up to make a life-saving impact by hosting the school’s annual Blood Drive on Thursday, December 18, in the HS East Auxiliary Gym.
With blood donations often declining during the holiday season while the need remains high, this initiative provides an important opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to come together in support of the community. The Leadership classes organized the event to encourage participation and demonstrate that compassion and civic responsibility are actions put into practice.
The Blood Drive will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and is open to students, faculty, and staff, offering the school community a meaningful way to give back during the holidays. By rolling up their sleeves, participants are helping ensure that life-saving blood is available for those in need.
This annual event reflects the Smithtown Promise, reinforcing the idea that service and leadership go hand in hand. Through initiatives like the Blood Drive, Smithtown High School East students continue to model the values of empathy, responsibility, and community engagement.
