it’s really an incredible thing for the students to identify a staff member that has had a positive impact on them while they are here. It’s such a positive thing for both the student and staff member.
I work as a teacher at John Jay East Fishkill (Hopewell Junction) and the Varsity Coach and his football team started this tradition at JJ for many years. I was nominated as a teacher a few years ago and just found it to be such an amazing honor and experience and I wanted to bring it to my team at Putnam Valley and have Putnam Valley’s faculty/staff members have that same feeling that I did.
