About:
Valley Stream South High School held its annual Service Week from April 3-7, with this year’s efforts based around the theme, “How We Can Help to End Hunger?” Students took part in several efforts to provide food to those in need.
Clubs and classes collected over 3,000 pounds of food, which were delivered to two local food pantries. Students additionally raised $800 at the Empty Bowls event for donation to the Holy Name of Mary Food Pantry. Some clubs made sandwiches for the Mary Brennan Inn and others participated in a community clean-up.
