The South Side High School Cyclones in Rockville Centre are making a difference beyond the field, once again partnering with the Rockville Centre (RVC) Breast Cancer Coalition to raise awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer.
Through their latest initiative, the Cyclones raised more than $1,300, demonstrating the power of teamwork, community spirit, and giving back.
Tackling Breast Cancer Together
For the South Side Cyclones, the initiative was about much more than football. It was an opportunity to bring student-athletes and the community together in support of individuals and families affected by breast cancer.
By continuing their partnership with the RVC Breast Cancer Coalition, the Cyclones helped raise awareness while contributing funds to support an important local cause.
The team’s efforts reflect a commitment to using athletics as a platform to make a positive difference beyond the scoreboard.
A Community United for a Cause
The ongoing partnership between South Side Athletics and the RVC Breast Cancer Coalition highlights the importance of community involvement and supporting local organizations.
By raising over $1,300, the Cyclones demonstrated how student-athletes can inspire others to get involved and support causes that touch the lives of their neighbors, friends, and families.
Their message is simple but powerful: Tackling breast cancer together!
Making an Impact Beyond the Field
South Side’s continued commitment to breast cancer awareness is a wonderful example of the positive influence high school athletes can have in their communities.
Through fundraising, awareness, and teamwork, the Cyclones are proving that some of the most meaningful victories happen off the field.
The 2026–2027 NYSPHSAA Community Service Challenge, presented by Team Up 4 Community, recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate leadership, compassion, and a commitment to making a difference in their communities.
