On Monday, January 13, the South Side Girls Varsity Basketball team hosted Hoops for Hope, a special game in honor of cancer heroes. The event brought the community together for an evening of basketball, unity, and giving back, as South Side took on Hewlett in the main gym at South Side High School.
This meaningful matchup wasn’t just about the scoreboard. All proceeds from the night were donated to Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Pediatric Ophthalmic Oncology Clinic, directly supporting retinoblastoma patients. In addition to ticket sales, a bake sale fundraiser was held during the game, with generous support from families and fans.
