The South Side Wrestling program recently hosted a successful Community Clinic, bringing together current varsity wrestlers, coaches, alumni, and younger athletes for an evening focused on learning, mentorship, and giving back.
The clinic featured guest clinician Thomas Wagner, Class of 2022, along with Coach Mike Davey, who shared their knowledge and experience with the athletes in attendance.
Several current South Side varsity wrestlers also volunteered their time to help run the clinic:

- Pat Donnovan – Senior
- Ben Yin – Freshman
- Richie Lanciers – Senior
- Tiernan Ferrick – Senior
- Jake Barz – Senior
- Lenny Budden – Senior
By working directly with younger wrestlers, the varsity athletes had the opportunity to serve as mentors and role models while helping strengthen the connection between the high school program and the broader wrestling community.
Community clinics like this provide more than instruction on technique. They give younger athletes the chance to learn from those who have come before them while allowing current student-athletes to develop leadership skills and give back to the program that has supported them.
A special thank you goes to Thomas Wagner, Coach Davey, the participating varsity wrestlers, and all of the athletes who attended and helped make the clinic a success.
