Members of Southampton High School’s Outing Club recently volunteered at the Surfers Healing event at Ponquogue Beach. The students, who are certified ocean lifeguards, assisted Surfers Healing participants in the water.
Surfers Healing aims to enrich the lives of people with autism by exposing them to the unique experience of surfing.
“The experience without a doubt enriched the lives of the students helping those with special needs to enter the water and exit with a big smile on their faces,” said Outing Club adviser Maria Abbadessa.
