About:
Just in time for the holidays, Earl L. Vandermeulen Student Organization – which incorporates student athletes- donated bags of toys to 60 local families in need through their Holiday Magic Campaign.
In an effort to provide holiday joy to as many children as possible, the Port Jefferson students expanded their drive this year to the entire student body. The outpouring of support, said SO President Carly Cherches was unbelievable.
“We had over 60 staff and students volunteer by picking a child to buy toys Cherches and SO Vice President Kayley Okst both said they were more than happy to lead this year’s effort.
“It’s nice to be able to help” said Cherches. Okst agreed, adding, “It’s great to know that we were able to get these children what they wanted this year.”
