About:
St. Croix Preparatory Academy’s National Honor Society (NHS) showcased the power of student leadership and service through a highly successful, student-led Coat Drive that brought warmth and hope to neighbors in need across the community.
With the collective support of students, families, faculty, and staff, NHS members collected an impressive 489 coats, hats, mittens, boots, and scarves, which were donated to Valley Outreach, a local organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing hardship during the colder months.
The Coat Drive was organized and led by St. Croix Prep’s 52 National Honor Society members across the junior and senior classes, reflecting the organization’s core values of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. By identifying a timely community need and mobilizing their peers to help address it, NHS students transformed compassion into meaningful action.
This effort builds on a strong year of service for NHS. Earlier in the year, members wrote and collected cards to support those affected by the Annunciation tragedy, offering messages of care and solidarity during a difficult time. Together, these initiatives have already contributed nearly 10 hours of service as an organization, with additional projects currently underway—including Playing for Change, a musical fundraiser benefiting Camp Daniel, and an upcoming Blood Drive.
Initiatives like the NHS Coat Drive highlight how students can use their voices, time, and teamwork to make a tangible difference beyond the classroom. St. Croix Preparatory Academy continues to exemplify what it means to lead with purpose, proving that when students come together in service, their impact reaches far beyond campus walls.
