About:
On April 25th, the Ossining Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team faced off against Wappingers Coop in the team’s annual “Stick It to Cancer” game. This meaningful event was held in partnership with the American Cancer Society (ACS) to raise awareness and support for the fight against cancer.
The game featured powerful messaging about cancer awareness, with numerous opportunities for the community to contribute to cancer research, patient support services, and the advocacy efforts of the ACS. Community members came out in full force to support this important cause.
Each varsity player shared a personal story about how cancer has affected their lives, and dedicated their game to someone they were honoring. The event also included concessions, raffles, and the sale of custom bracelets that read “Ossining Lax Sticks It To Cancer.” All proceeds from the evening were donated directly to the American Cancer Society.
Adding to the spirit of the event, the Ossining Youth Lacrosse program took the field at halftime for a special scrimmage, showcasing the next generation of local athletes.
