About:
It was a sticky situation for Landing School Principal Benjamin Roberts on May 18 as students and staff participated in the school’s “Stuck for a Buck” fundraiser.
The activity, which gave students / studnet athletes an opportunity to buy a piece of duct tape for a dollar and tape Principal Roberts to the wall, was part of the school’s three-week Pennies for Patients campaign to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Fourth-grade teacher Maria DePace led the fundraising efforts, which included students donating money to classroom donation boxes daily, as well as weekly pen/pencil and bake sales. Each grade level also participated in Dance for a Dollar, donating money to participate in a grade-wide dance. In all, the students raised $5,380.40 for the organization.
