It was a sticky situation for Landing School Principal Benjamin Roberts on May 18 as students and staff participated in the school’s “Stuck for a Buck” fundraiser.
The activity, which gave students / studnet athletes an opportunity to buy a piece of duct tape for a dollar and tape Principal Roberts to the wall, was part of the school’s three-week Pennies for Patients campaign to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Fourth-grade teacher Maria DePace led the fundraising efforts, which included students donating money to classroom donation boxes daily, as well as weekly pen/pencil and bake sales. Each grade level also participated in Dance for a Dollar, donating money to participate in a grade-wide dance. In all, the students raised $5,380.40 for the organization.
1. Landing School Principal Benjamin Roberts allowed students and staff to duct tape him to the school way to help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients campaign.
2. Students were excited as they waited on line to purchase duct tape during Landing School’s Stuck for a Buck.
