About:
The Skaneateles Student Athletic Council (SAC) continues to show that leadership goes far beyond the field. On Sunday, March 23rd, more than 20 SAC delegates volunteered at Grace Chapel in Skaneateles with Kids Against Hunger, a nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to fighting food insecurity among children across the globe.
This yearly outreach event has become a meaningful tradition for the SAC. Spearheaded by advisor Stacey Patalino, who is also a parishioner at Grace Chapel, the initiative was originally introduced as a way for student-athletes to serve others in a selfless and impactful way—no fundraising involved, just time, teamwork, and heart.
Together, the students packed over 89,000 meals for children in need, making a tangible impact while gaining a deeper understanding of the importance of service and empathy.
This ongoing partnership between SAC and Kids Against Hunger is a shining example of how sports and service go hand in hand. Through this initiative, young leaders are coming together to change lives—one meal at a time.
