The North High School SADD Club in the Valley Stream Central High School District worked with Island Harvest to sponsor a food drive to help those in need on Long Island.
The food drive ran from November through December during the hybrid schedule. North students and staff members collected approximately 720 pounds of nonperishable food items, which were donated to Island Harvest.
SADD representatives also went into seventh grade classes to talk about food insecurity on Long Island and what they could do to help.
