About:

Seventh graders at Oyster Bay High School are reaching out to local veterans this Valentine’s Day. Through the Town of Oyster Bay’s Valentines for Veterans initiative, students in family and consumer science classes created cards filled with pictures and heartfelt messages to be distributed to vets. Through the collection, cards will be given to American Legion and Veteran of Foreign War Posts, as well as hospitals and nursing homes.

The community outreach provides an opportunity for students to give back to those who have served our country. Students were excited to get involved and enjoyed displaying their creativity through the Valentine’s Day cards.
