About:
Upon entering Washington Drive Primary School last week, students deposited canned goods and non-perishable food items into one of two plastic bins as part of the school’s Soup-er Bowl fundraiser.
The week-long, event, organized by the school’s Acts of Kindness Committee, lasted from Jan. 27 to Jan. 31 and encouraged students to give back to families in need within the community.
Students “voted” for whichever team they hoped would win the Super Bowl by placing their food item in the designated teams’ bins. Food items were counted daily and the winning team was announced each afternoon.
Overall, the San Francisco 49ers had the most collected items, totaling 208 cans to the Chiefs 204.
