About:
A dedicated group of students came together once again to demonstrate the power of leadership, compassion, and collaboration through a meaningful mental health awareness initiative rooted in suicide prevention.
Now in its fourth year, this student-led effort was created to raise awareness around mental health and to foster open, supportive conversations within the school community. Each year, students commit to meeting weekly for nearly two months to thoughtfully plan the event, ensuring it reflects both purpose and impact.
This year’s team included 11 students, many of whom are student-athletes representing a variety of sports, including golf, swimming, tennis, and cross country. While participation is open to all students, the strong involvement of student-athletes highlights how leadership and service extend far beyond the playing field.
Proceeds from the initiative directly support the school’s Wellness Club, helping fund student programs that promote mental health, well-being, and peer support. Through their collective efforts, these students are not only raising awareness but also creating lasting resources that benefit their peers.
This initiative stands as a powerful example of students taking ownership of an important cause—showing that when young leaders come together with empathy and purpose, they can make a meaningful and lasting impact on their community.
