About:
We held a dance marathon through the Children’s Miracle Network. We raised funds for our local hospital, Cohen Children’s Medical Center; every penny from the event went directly to this cause. We had a goal of $10,000 and raised $15,714.52! We are so happy that we are able to help and raise awareness for this incredible cause through such a fun event. We had 2 patients from the hospital speak at the event, lots of dancing, an overwhelmingly large amount of food donations, raffles, games, etc. We hope to continue this event next year as well and grow it to become even bigger! Overall, it was a huge success!
We have about 75 club members, many of which are athletes. A student-athlete from girls lacrosse who is on the board of Interact presented the Dance Marathon to most sports teams. We reached out to all coaches as well. We did have many athletes at the event, many came straight from their games. The event itself was from 4-10 pm but we started planning in September. We meet every other week with General club members who were broken into committees. We reached out to many local restaurants for food and raffle donations.
