About:
The Tartan North Boys Hockey team is making a positive impact both on and off the ice, demonstrating the importance of teamwork, leadership, and community involvement through several recent activities.
From volunteering at local events and helping maintain youth sports facilities to participating in community celebrations and leadership development opportunities, these student-athletes are showing what it means to represent their team beyond the game.
Supporting the East Metro Pig Roast
The team’s community service efforts included lending a helping hand at the East Metro Pig Roast, where players volunteered their time to support the local event.
By stepping up to assist, the hockey players demonstrated their commitment to supporting community organizations and contributing to events that bring people together.
Giving Back to Parkway Little League
The team’s next stop was Parkway Little League, where players rolled up their sleeves to help clean up the facilities.
Their efforts helped support a local youth sports organization while demonstrating the importance of maintaining community spaces where younger athletes can learn, grow, and develop their love for sports.
Through their willingness to give back, the Tartan North players set a positive example for the next generation of athletes.
Celebrating Community at the North St. Paul Fall Round Up Parade
The Tartan North Boys Hockey team also participated in the North St. Paul Fall Round Up Parade, joining community members for an evening of celebration and school spirit.
The players proudly represented their hockey program as they walked in the parade and even had the opportunity to meet local royalty!
Their participation highlighted the team’s connection to the community and the importance of being involved beyond athletics.
Building Leadership with United Heroes League
In addition to their community service activities, the Tartan North Boys Hockey team participated in a special leadership experience with the United Heroes League, taking part in its Confidence Course.
The experience focused on the powerful message of “Leadership Without a Letter,” emphasizing that leadership is not defined by wearing a captain’s letter or holding an official title.
Instead, leadership is demonstrated through actions, character, teamwork, and a willingness to support others.
The opportunity provided players with valuable lessons they can carry with them both on and off the ice.
Making an Impact Beyond the Ice
Through their involvement in community events, volunteer projects, and leadership development, the Tartan North Boys Hockey team is demonstrating how student-athletes can make a difference in their communities.
Whether helping at the East Metro Pig Roast, cleaning up Parkway Little League, participating in the North St. Paul Fall Round Up Parade, or developing leadership skills with United Heroes League, these players are embracing opportunities to grow as teammates and community members.
