Hampton Bays veterans were honored during the second annual Veterans Day car parade at Hampton Bays Elementary School on Nov. 10.
Donning red, white and blue and waving American flags and pompoms, the district’s fourth graders lined the school’s traffic circle to cheer on the veterans as patriotic music played in the background.
The celebratory parade culminated a week of learning about the importance of Veterans Day. Throughout the week, the students visited the American Legion and wrote songs, poems and essays about the meaning of Veterans Day.
