About:
the Bishop Feehan boys varsity hockey team participated and won the first annual Travis Roy High School Junior Beanpot. The schools involved were Bishop Feehan, Newton North, Lexington and Brookline. Lisa Gurdin, a team mother from Brookline high school, did an amazing job coordinating and Bishop Feehan JV and Varsity players volunteered throughout the weekend to sell raffles and raise awareness for Spinal Cord injuries. It was a fantastic weekend, and this was the follow up email from Lisa Gurdin to the coaches:
“We cannot thank you enough for all of your support this weekend. I hope your players and families found the tournament fun, competitive, and most of all meaningful. Thank you to Dave Franzosa and the Foxboro Sports Center team for making it all run smoothly. ”
In addition to a successful event, we increased awareness exponentially, and have raised over $6,000 online so far plus the $5000 match. This number should increase due to the ongoing Jr. Beanpot 24 challenge. Please continue spreading the word. We also raised over $7300 at the event from merchandise sales, entry fees, and silent auction. This is all so great, thank you!
