About:
Thank you for attending tonight’s game between the Ketcham Indians and the John Jay Patriots. Tonight we are honoring 2 former teachers here at John Jay and Ketcham. The plan is for this to be an annual event and we have a plaque to record the results of each game, each year.
Jules Eurillo taught special education at both RCK and JJ for several years. She was involved with the cheerleading program and you could find her announcing many of RCK’s sporting events including football, baseball and basketball. We lost Mrs. Eurillo in December, 2017. Tonight we are joined by members of Jules’ family .
Michael Ambron taught business at JJ for several years and was a fixture at graduations giving a number of commencement speeches as he was selected by the graduating seniors almost every year he taught at John Jay. Among many other things, he was also at most home basketball games at the table doing the book. We lost Mr. Ambron in the Summer of 2022. Tonight we are joined by members of Mike’s family.
Both Mrs. Eurillo and Mr. Ambron embodied all of the attributes that make our school district great, and went above and beyond for their students and athletes. They left a great impact on everyone that they worked with, and they made our schools a better place as a result of their years of dedication and hard work.
If you could all please join us in a moment of silence in remembrance of these 2 wonderful teachers who we so dearly miss.
Thank you. If you knew Coach Jules and Mr. Ambron, they actually wouldn’t want a moment of silence in their memory, they would rather have the gym cheering with excitement, supporting their teams. So in their spirit, we will set 1 minute on the clock, and we ask everyone to stand, and cheer for 60 seconds for Coach Jules and Mr. Ambron. Let’s hear it JJ Fans. Let’s hear it RCK fans.
