About:
Connolly School students were treated to a free magic show by Chad Juros of the Spread the Magic Foundation in thanks for raising money to benefit pediatric cancer patients.
The fundraising effort was led by Connolly Student Council Co-President and cancer survivor Carter Suozzi. Juros visited Carter in the hospital on his birthday last August. Carter was moved by Juros because he is also a childhood cancer survivor.
To raise money for the foundation, students and student-athletes held a paper airplane throwing contest and collected contributions from community members. The goal was to raise $1,000, but thanks to the generosity of the school’s students and community members, the children far exceeded their goal, raising $8,022.
Students and teachers were amazed by Juros’ magic tricks. They also served as volunteers and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the show.
