About:
This year North Rockland softball is doing a variety of Community Service/Charitable events.
On Friday 4/5 and Saturday 4/6 our varsity team is hosting a clinic for our two Little League softball programs, Haverstraw Little League and Stony Point Little League, free of cost. It’s a way for our girls to give back to the programs that got them going at a young age playing softball.
On Thursday 4/18 we are teaming up with Clarkstown North high school and head coach Dan Gartshore for a Mental Health Awareness game as our programs have been impacted by suicide and mental health issues in recent years. As we did last year, we will be collecting donations and proceeds will go to the Mental Health Association of Rockland.
On April 29th, North Rockland Varsity softball will be teaming up with Mahopac Varsity softball to play a “Pink Out/Breast Cancer Awareness” game. Mahopac Coach Cristina Giansante reached out and set this up with us.
Cristina mentioned that one of her players’ mothers has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We are raising money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation by selling NCAA March Madness boxes with 50% of the proceeds going to the winner and 50% being donated to Susan G. Komen.
