About:
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, children in Lynbrook’s West End School sent heartwarming thoughts to local military veterans to thank them for their service to our country. Every class in the school participated, with students creating more than 400 handmade cards as part of a Valentines for Veterans initiative coordinated by Councilman Anthony D’Esposito. The cards will be distributed to veterans in hospitals and nursing homes to let them know their sacrifices are not forgotten.
“It was heartwarming to see such a tremendous response from our school” said teacher Amy Bruno, who organizes the event each year. “Every valentine contained a personal note of gratitude to these brave men and women who are so deserving of our thanks.”
