About:
The Girls Basketball Program has participated in an annual Clothing drive for the community for the past several years. This event was hosted by the Town of Victor and our program was able to collect, donate, and work the event. However this event was cancelled this year due to the Pandemic. Through the leadership of my Booster Club, specifically Lynn Gill and Colleen Murphy, the team was still able to give back to not only their community, but the surrounding communities as well by teaming up with Primetime Ballers to collect Coats and Toys for those most in need during these unprecedented times.
We had approximately 20 student/athletes from both the Varsity and JV teams participate. Posters were put up around the school and community approximately two weeks before the event. Collection accord on December 12th and lasted about two hours. In those two hours we were able to collect three car loads of coats and toys. I have attached the tweet form Primetime Ballers.
Giving back to the community has always been an important part of the Victor Girls Basketball Program. This was started by former Coach Blake Smith. Coach Smith emphasized the importance of giving back to the community through such events as cloth drives, bell ringing, and food drives for our local Food Cupboard.
