About:
Walt Whitman High School in Huntington Station recently welcomed students to a meaningful and energizing Volunteer Service Fair, designed to connect young people with local organizations and service opportunities throughout the Town of Huntington.
The event gave students the chance to explore a wide range of ways to get involved—whether through community support, advocacy, environmental work, or helping local families and organizations in need. By meeting representatives face-to-face, students were able to learn how their time and talents can make a real difference.
A special thank-you goes to Suffolk County Legislator Rebecca Sanin and WWHS senior Aryaa Shah for their leadership in helping make this event possible. Their dedication to empowering students and strengthening community partnerships played a central role in the fair’s success.
This initiative reflects Walt Whitman High School’s ongoing commitment to fostering civic engagement, leadership, and service among its students—ensuring they have the tools and inspiration to positively impact their community.
