About:

Ward Melville High School junior and member of the Student Government Board, Alexa Moore has been chosen to be a St. Baldrick’s Ambassador this year.

Annually, St. Baldrick’s, an organization dedicated to conquering childhood cancers, chooses five ambassadors to represent the thousands of children whose lives have been impacted by childhood cancer.  In addition to being one of the faces of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for this year, Alexa is working to organize a St. Baldrick’s event again this year, which will likely be virtual in observation of COVID-19 restrictions.

“It is an honor to serve as a 2021 Ambassador for St. Baldrick’s which is an organization near and dear to me heart,” said Alexa. “As a cancer survivor myself, I feel it is important to continue to spread awareness and to raise money to find a cure for this horrific disease. Together, we can all make a difference.”

As part of her work as an Ambassador, Alexa participated in a live interview with the CEO of St. Baldrick’s, Kathleen Ruddy. During the piece, Alexa discussed her journey with Clear Cell Sarcoma of the Kidney and her passion for fundraising to help others.
