Earlier this week, TEAM WARD, the student leadership club at Ward Melville High School, led an inspiring and supportive initiative for future Patriots. The program, titled “Inside the Mind of a Patriot,” was designed to help eighth and ninth graders at Gelinas and Murphy junior high schools prepare for the exciting transition to high school life.
Held on May 19 at Gelinas and May 20 at Murphy, the program included a video presentation and a live Q&A panel featuring current Ward Melville students. These student leaders shared valuable insights and honest advice about academics, extracurriculars, and navigating the social scene—offering a realistic and reassuring look into what students can expect at the high school level.
Organized under the guidance of TEAM WARD adviser Leah Jantzen, the event served as a powerful example of peer mentorship and leadership in action. Kudos to TEAM WARD for welcoming the next generation of students with open arms and open minds!
