About:
In an inspiring show of unity and support, West Genesee and Cicero-North Syracuse (CNS) volleyball teams came together for a special “Morgan’s Message” game. Both teams, along with many fans, wore “Morgan’s Message” shirts during warm-ups, symbolizing their commitment to raising awareness about the importance of mental health in athletics and beyond.
Before the game began, three West Genesee ambassadors—Sidney Hamilton, Maddie Cook, and Norah Emery—alongside CNS ambassador Allison Navarra, took the floor to address the crowd. Their words highlighted the significance of mental health support and advocacy, emphasizing the impact Morgan’s Message has on reducing the stigma around mental health issues among student-athletes. Through their involvement, these athletes are not only honoring Morgan’s legacy but also fostering an environment of open dialogue and support within their schools and communities.
The evening showcased the power of community and compassion, as players, coaches, and fans came together to support this vital cause. By shining a light on mental health, the West Genesee and CNS teams are helping pave the way for a more supportive, aware, and connected athletic community.
Thank you to all involved in making this event a success, and to the ambassadors for leading the way in this crucial conversation. The impact of Morgan’s Message is felt deeply, and this event stands as a testament to the strength of student-athletes who continue to advocate for mental health.
