About:
The West Hempstead Varsity Cheerleading team is uniting the community for a meaningful cause this season. On November 24, 2025, the team will host a Clothing Drive at the West Hempstead Secondary School Football Field (400 Nassau Blvd, West Hempstead, NY 11552), with final drop-offs beginning at 5:30 PM.
Community members are invited to donate new or gently used clothing, shoes, jackets, handbags, jewelry, linens, bedding, toys, sporting equipment, and small household items. Collection bins are already set up in the elementary schools and at the secondary school for early donations. All items will support Go Green Clothing & Recycling Long Island, an organization dedicated to sustainability, reuse, and helping families in need.
Adding a spirited twist, the drive includes a friendly competition:

Top Fan Donor will receive a $100 gift card to a local restaurant or business.

Top Athlete Donor will win a $100 Lululemon gift card.
With Thanksgiving approaching, the cheerleaders hope to inspire gratitude and giving throughout the community — proving that teamwork extends far beyond the sidelines. Donations are welcome from all neighborhoods, not just West Hempstead.
