About:
The West Islip JV and Varsity field hockey teams recently volunteered and supported the Walk to End Alzheimer’s which took place at Belmont Lake on Saturday, September 19.
About 40 girls contributed over 5 hours by volunteering during the entire event.
From helping to unload the truck, to making flowers for the run, setting the t shirts, and handing out water to participants. The girls were actively involved. They especially enjoyed cheering everyone on that day!
This event is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide and calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions.
The mission of the Alzheimer’s group is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
West Islip is very proud of the efforts of Coach Hassett, Coach Orehosky, Coach Mock-Dorfman and the West Islip field hockey players!
