About:
Tuesday, October 12th, 2021For the tenth year in a row, the WHS Volleyball teams will be raising awareness and funds to support Breast Cancer research in the month of October. We will be playing a “DIG PINK” game, which is part of a national movement in volleyball which has raised millions of dollars in the past few years. Over 1600 teams across all 50 states participated in Dig Pink Games to raise awareness as well as funding for Breast Cancer research last year. The Westborough Community has helped us to raise well over $35,000 in the past thirteen years…THANK YOU!
With this in mind, we ask each of you to help us out this year! Please help us raise awareness of Breast Cancer by wearing PINK on Tuesday, October 12th in school, and if you’d like attend our match at 5:00 PM vs. our friends from Shepherd Hill Regional High School here at WHS. To streamline the donation process, the Side-Out Foundation has provided us with a website for direct donations (we will also take donations the day of the game.) The link is below. We will also accept a suggested $2 donation at the door. 100% of the money we collect goes to the Side-Out Foundation for research and more information can be found on our website page. Our goal is to raise $4000 this year.
Finally, we will have a brief ceremony right at 5:00 before beginning our warm up for the varsity match. We will honor those who are cancer survivors as well as those we have lost to this terrible disease. We feel it is very important to honor and celebrate the connections we all have in life.
The volleyball program thanks you very much for your support.
