About:
The Westford Academy Girls Soccer team took the field for a cause bigger than the game on October 10, 2026, hosting Chelmsford High School for a special “Kick for a Cure” cancer benefit game.
While the Westford Academy Ghosts earned a 2–0 victory on the scoreboard, both teams came together for something far more meaningful: raising awareness and showing support for those affected by cancer.
Two Teams, One Important Cause
The special matchup highlighted how high school athletics can bring student-athletes and communities together in support of an important cause.
Despite being opponents on the field, Westford Academy and Chelmsford demonstrated that teamwork and sportsmanship extend beyond competition.
By participating in the cancer awareness game, both programs helped shine a light on the importance of supporting individuals and families impacted by cancer.
Making an Impact Beyond the Field
Events like “Kick for a Cure” remind us that the true impact of sports goes far beyond wins and losses. Through awareness initiatives, student-athletes have opportunities to inspire compassion, strengthen community connections, and make a positive difference.
